Chapter 29:
The Garden’s Gate

Fabocusa and Cahan were watching through the window of the dark room. Fabocusa gave Cahan the key bow. Cahan smiled as he slowly put the shaft and the bow together. The key glowed gold as it was complete. He knew the time for the primitives was coming to an end. Fabocusa looked his hands and had Alexander’s blood stained on the tops of his fingertips.

Cahan said, “My friend, I didn’t know you had it in you. You fixed your mistake.”

“You were right,” said Fabocusa. “It was my fault that I loved Helen.”

“The gate to the Garden of Eden is located at the satellite of planet Ophiuchus of the Ras Alhague system in this globular cluster the humans call Messier 14,” said Cahan. “My Helbots have unburied it and waiting for us to open it.”

Cahan offered the key to Fabocusa. “Since you finally fixed your mistake, I want you to open the gate and let all of us in.”

Fabocusa smiled, “It will be my pleasure.”

The Spacers and Helbots flew into the Ras Alhague system. This binary star system had eight planets orbiting in between them. Each terrestrial planet they flew passed were all barren and had no atmosphere. There were only two gas giants orbiting around the stars. One of them was a super large purple giant with ten times the amount of rings Saturn has.

Cahan’s fleet flew slightly above the rings as they got closer to the planet. In between the gas giant and the rings was a moon the size of Mars. It appeared as a bronze with seas of rust. They flew into the moon’s orbit and looked down on its surface to find a hole as wide as New York City. The depth of the hole was as deep as the height of Mount Everest. Around the walls was a purple tube with antennas going into the center of the hole.

Cahan said, “Fabocusa, this is the gate of the Garden of Eden.”

Fabocusa asked, “How are we going to open it exactly?”

Cahan explained, “There is a control station just at the base of the gate. We insert the key into the panels and the gate will open.”

Cahan’s ship lowered into the gate and landed on a dome structure, which happened to be the control station. Both of them got out of the ship and stepped down the stairs into the station. Once they were inside, the Helbots stood straight and saluted as the two passed by. At the center of the room was a floating round table with a narrow hole in the middle.

“This is where we put the key in,” Cahan said. He waved his hand to the panel. “Please.”

Fabocusa nodded and walked toward the panel. He took out the key and pulled it down into the slot. As soon as he turned it at a right angle, the tube around the hole glowed. Five antennas burst out and attached each other with lightning. Once all the antennas were connected a purple static rift was opened.

Cahan cheered, “You opened the gate!”

    “Thank you,” said Fabocusa.

“No, thank you,” said Cahan. “I now want you to stay here and summon the whole Helbot fleet into the portal. We are so close to winning this war. Our race will rise again!”

“This is best for our race,” Fabocusa agreed.

“Good luck,” Cahan shook his hand. “Meet me back at the Garden of Eden once all the Helbots went through.”

Fabocusa nodded as Cahan left the station. He looked around as the Helbots were eyeing on him. As Cahan’s ship lifted off the ground and dove into the portal. Other Spacer ships followed him and entered the portal as well.

As the Spacers gone through, Fabocusa turned and impaled a Helbot with his spear. The Helbots attacked and fired their guns at him. Fabocusa pulled out two light beam rifles and blindly bright beams burst through their armor. Three charged with laser swords, but he leaped over them and sliced their bodies in half. Spacer medical probes buzzed in and he shot one down at a time. With this gracefully swifts and fast firing, he destroyed all the Helbots in the control station.

With then down, Fabocusa looked at his wrist and started calling Moses. He said, “Alexander has to be alive. He has to get to the Garden of Eden and stop Cahan. Please be alive!”

Meanwhile back on Lynx, Alexander gathered everyone in the briefing room. He paced back and forth as he was about to set up a plan to stop the Spacers. His men were eager to know what they must do now he was saved and recovered.

Alexander started, “My comrades, we had been hit hard on the enemy. The Spacers took the bow and complete the key to the Garden of Eden. The Garden of Eden is a galactic weapon that they’ll use if we don’t reach them in time. We have to know now!”

David asked, “How are we going to find this Garden of Eden? We don’t have the key anymore to open it.”

Alpha said, “No, but we do have that orb to look at where the key is.”

Yuya pulled out the orb and turned it on. The map appeared and they looked down to find the key symbol. Yuya said, “It turns out the key is at the Ras Alhague system. That is probably where the Garden of Eden is.”

“And it looks like it is staying at one spot,” Alpha added.

“Ok,” Alexander nodded. “We must head to that star system now!”

“Hold on,” said General Floundo. “We can’t just head there now. We don’t know how many Helbots or Spacers would be waiting for us. If it is a fleet more massive in size than ours, then we would be slaughtered. This is gambling!”

“He’s right Alex,” Colonel Chan spoke through the intercom. “You can’t go through that battle without a plan first.”

Alexander sighed and admitted, “I don’t have a plan. All I want is to get there and stop the Spacers from using that weapon.”

Tloc hurried into the briefing room. He said, “Alexander, the ship had been upgraded when we got it back.”

“Upgraded? How?” Alexander asked. “I didn’t ask for upgrading.”

“None of us upgraded the ship,” said Tloc. “Someone must have while we were fighting the Helbots on the surface.”

Alexander asked, “What sort of upgrade is it?”

Tloc said, “Someone programmed the ship to travel in cloak mode.”

Alexander felt confused, “Someone puts a cloaking program on my ship. How and why?”

Moses’ wrist vibrated as Fabocusa was calling them. Moses’ answered, “Hello Fabocusa.”

“Moses, is Alexander alright?” Fabocusa asked in concerned.

Alexander sprinted to Moses and shouted at the watch. “You tried to kill me!”

Fabocusa breathed in relief, “Thank goodness you are alive!”

“Alive? You fucking stabbed me to death!” Alexander snapped. “What the hell do you want from us?!”

Fabocusa warned, “You must head to the Ras Alhague system. The portal to the Garden of Eden is opened.”

Alexander glared at the watch, “You betrayed me! You betrayed me, your only son! You decided to kill me! Why?”

Fabocusa knew that his son would be very angry at him. He felt guilty that he almost killed him. He paused as he thought about that moment and how hard it was to do it. He had to still help him stop Cahan from using the Garden of Eden.

He began to explain, “Alexander, I am truly sorry about my attempt to kill you. You have to listen and understand why I had to do it. If I didn’t, Cahan would kill the two of us and continue to slaughter more people on Lynx. Killing you was the only way to stop that invasion. Yes, I tried to kill you because I knew you were going to survive.”

“What,” Alexander felt stunned. His father tried to kill him so he would be saved.

Fabocusa continued, “If I didn’t think you were going to survive, I would have stabbed myself and impale Cahan at the same time. But you did survive and I am happy. You have Alpha to provide you with useful information. Moses helped your team recover from their illnesses and injuries. You have a colonel that you still need in your team. You have great friends and comrades that are always there for you. Your friends saved you and need you to continue leading them to victory. Alexander, you still have a chance in taking Cahan down.”

Alexander slightly smiled as he heard those words from his father. He looked at his comrades and they felt confident. Even Vyla who she saved his life the minute he fell.

He said, “So you are the one who upgraded my ship.”

Fabocusa admitted, “I did before contacting you during the attack. If you travel to the gate, you must be in cloak mode so the Helbots won’t detect you.”

Alexander thought, my father planned this out so I would be fully ready to take the enemy down. He knew Alexander was going to make it. His friends helped him out. They always have each other’s backs during worst situations. They were a big team.

Fabocusa asked, “Alexander, will you please forgive me?”

As he thought about what he said, Alexander sighed, “I forgive you.”

“Alright, you have to get your men ready and get to the Ras Alhague system,” Fabocusa smiled and the call ended.

As the sun began to set, Alexander stepped out of Helen’s Bravery as many human ships were landing in the city. Colonel Chan pushed his wheelchair as he was talking to General McKinley and O’Reilly. Marines rescued many civilians who were trapped in the rubble. At the outskirts of the city, tents were up as they formed an outdoor hospital. News reporters hurried to the scene as the military were rebuilding the city. Alexander walked to Colonel Chan, General McKinley, and O’Reilly.

“Colonel Chan, you have the luckiest soldier ever,” said General McKinley.

“I am still can’t believe Alexander has formed a resistance,” said Colonel Chan.

    General O’Reilly said, “He’s not a terrorist.”

“You thought he was?” Colonel Chan asked even though he was not surprised.

“If it wasn’t for him, we could have lost this planet,” said General O’Reilly.

As Alexander joined to the group, General O’Reilly saluted. “Alexander.”

    “O’Reilly,” Alexander nodded.

“I want to thank you for ending this invasion,” said O’Reilly.

“No, thank you,” said Alexander. “You guys helped me.”

“What will you are doing for us now?” General McKinley asked.

Alexander explained, “The Helbots and Spacers took a key to a stellar weapon called the Garden of Eden. They want to use it to destroy every planet we live on. We have the location to where we must go. They are gathering the whole fleet and we are heading there in stealth.”

“Where are they?” General McKinley asked.

Alexander said, “The Helbots and Spacers are located at planet Ophiuchus of the Ras Alhague system in Messier 14. We have to get to there before they use the Garden of Eden.”

“We will alert the World Leaders and help you,” said General O’Reilly.

“I’ll come with you,” said Colonel Chan.

Alexander said, “Colonel, you just woke up from your coma and you can’t move around well. You need to stay behind and get more treatment.”

“Don’t worry; you’ll stick around and help us out,” O’Reilly said to Colonel Chan.

“I must have my men get ready and head off in a few hours,” said Alexander. “I’ll contact you when I get to the Garden of Eden. We’ll also be contacting other leaders for them to help build more forces. My men will get there first and call in for reinforcements.”

“Alex whatever you are planning to do, be sure you succeed” said Colonel Chan.

“That is right,” said General O’Reilly. “As they say in throughout human history before the World Republic, failure is not an option.”

“Understood,” Alexander nodded. “I must go.”

“Good luck Alex,” Colonel Chan shook his hand.

Alexander saluted to his colonel and generals just as he walked back into Helen’s Bravery to get ready for this big battle.
Fabocusa opened the gate to the Garden of Eden. Cahan's forces flew into the portal and made it into the Garden of Eden. Fabocusa contacted Alexander and told him everything he had done to help him get to the Garden of Eden and have to stop Cahan before he controls it. Alexander forgave him and told his generals to get reinforcements ready as they were about to head to the portal to the Garden of Eden. Enjoy!

Vyla walked into the medical bay as Moses was mending a broken leg on his last patient. He used lasers to seal the cracks in the bone and sewed back the muscles. As the skin was sealed back together, Moses wrapped the leg with bandages. She waited patiently as Moses treated this patient.
“You must take easy on that leg for a few hours,” Moses said to the patient. Then he turned to Vyla. “Vyla, is there something you need?”
“Yes,” she said. “Can I talk to you privately?”
“Sure,” he nodded and they head into the lab. “What can I help you?”
She asked, “How much blood Alex lost?”
He explained, “Alexander’s blood vessels contain 19.0 liters of blood in the body. He lost conscious when the blood level went from 19.0 liters to 15 liters. So he had lost 6 liters of blood. But he has re
